Botanic Bear & Flow & Tetris Garden

Welcome Garden greeting visitors heading to Seoul Botanic Park

Botanic Bear

As the main landmark of Seoul Botanic Park, “Botanic Bear Garden” was created with teddy bear sculptures peering curiously into the Exhibition Greenhouse.
Installed here are donated works by artist Roe Dong-sik, including “Becoming a Dandelion Seed,” “Large Botanic Bear,” and “SEOUL BOTANIC PARK.”
The scene of the large bear and small bear looking into the building has become a symbol of the park, with many visitors replicating the pose for photos.
Themed photo zones capturing the most beautiful moments of each seasonal flower and special event displays such as Christmas and Spring Festival add a new look each season.

Flow Garden

The “Flow Garden” is a long, winding garden that spirals along the Botanic Center and Plant Science Lab, serving as an accompanying path that naturally connects the main areas of Seoul Botanic Park.
Evergreen trees that balance the garden include low, rounded juniper and tall, upright Skyrocket juniper, creating a sense of rhythm. Silvery-blue Angel juniper is harmoniously placed between them to create a deep blue-green backdrop.
On top of this green foundation, vibrant herbaceous plants, bright and sturdy yellow dogwood, and various grasses blend together to create a beautiful, watercolor-like scenery all seasons.

Tetris Garden

Located at the entrance of the Botanic Center, the “Tetris Garden” is a planter garden inspired by the game Tetris, transforming leftover spaces into delightful garden elements. It screens poor views and naturally embraces pedestrian pathways.
As a “container garden” suitable for narrow or artificial ground common in urban environments, it demonstrates that anyone with limited space and time can still dream of a garden.
Installing planters of different heights allows visitors to enjoy viewing plants from multiple angles and appreciate even the backside of flowers.
Evergreens such as juniper, umbrella pine, and boxwood form the green background, with herbaceous, shrub, and floral species changed seasonally to offer fresh scenery.
