Seoul Botanic Park’s “Moving Seeds” embodies the historical identity of Magok district and the identity of Seoul Botanic Park. Movable benches symbolizing the vitality and dispersal of seeds are freely arranged like the memories of Magok’s former farmland.
A photo zone built with bricks offers a new perspective as though appreciating an artwork. A drooping mulberry tree wraps around the structure, adding a natural atmosphere.
Designer Hwang Ji-hae pursues gardens in harmony with nature, having been recognized at world flower shows. She is currently collaborating with designer Jeong Hui-seon to conceptualize new gardens.
Their upcoming work is expected to expand the garden culture further as another “moving seed” harmonizing people and nature.

The “Designer’s Garden” of Seoul Botanic Park showcases new garden trends through experimental works by garden designers.

  • In 2019, “Garden, Drawing the Seasons - Rolling Garden”— which expressed the colors of spring—presented the beauty of the seasons, reflecting differentiated plant displays and curated storytelling.
  • In 2020, flower-art objets and vine displays presented vibrant plant compositions and planting styles, leading new garden trends.
  • In 2023, “Plant Journey” created with a sculptural structure reinterpreting hanok roofs and native plants drew attention.
  • In 2024, garden designer Jeong Hui-seon, who has designed numerous gardens, participated to enrich the garden culture further.
